I can not find that this has been discussed as so will run the risk of asking again. Both the head intake and the forward sink drain into the same thru hull. As a result I can not pump water into the head unless the sink is full of water. What is the solution for this? Two shut off valves in the lines? Check valves in both lines??

Any help will be apreciated.

Are you sure that the seacock is open? I have the same setup on my boat:

seacock with a "T"
Both head intake and sink drain connected to the "T"

If the seacock is not open then the head will draw water from the sink. Some people like this feature as it gives them the ability to flush out the head with fresh water.

Have you tried a rubber stopper in the sink--to allow a vacuum to draw water up from the thru-hull?

I installed a ball valve just above the seacock. No priming needed now...
