Some time ago someone posted an article about mounting a traveler on the cabin top of a Catalina 25 for the purpose of installing a Bimini.
It included some excellent pictures.
Can anyone assist me in locating this posting?

A couple of observations...

It looks like Bon Bon doesn't have lines led aft for control from the cockpit. The traveler risers would be somewhat in the way.

By staying with end-boom sheeting, I was able to mount the dodger so it covered the companionway, enough that it could be open in a light rain and when closed, heavy rain rarely sneaked through the hatch boards. It also left room for me to stand and look over the top of the bimini from the helm--sometimes more comfortable than peering under it. (Going forward was a little trickier, but lines led aft made that less important.)

Both ways have their advantages...

My new boat uses a bridle setup with two mainsheets on a 4 to one block and tackle. each is cleated on the cabintop edge and keeps the cockpit clean. It is very inexpensive to rig and you'll have no problems with lines lead aft.
