I know ya'll are 25 people, but I figured since you are Capri qualified you might could help me. I have found a Capri-15 #3316 and am considering purchasing it for my granddaughter. The sale price is make an offer, but I don't want to take advantage of a situation. My questions are: what year and how much would be a fair price? Oh yeah, its in great shape with new sails.

Perhaps surveying Craig's list would give you an idea of what they are going for. Or contact a dealer to find out what they go for new. Similar sized boats are going for $3500-$6000 here at Fay's, but location can make a huge difference.
You can always search for comparable values on www.nada.com, use the Consumer pages for boats. I used that and www.yachtworld.com to put together my offer on my C-250.
I done a great deal of searching and the only place I can find a price for a Capri-15 is at NADA.com. Apparently Catalina only built a 15 footer in 1986. I searched from 71 - 95 and that is the only year. According to NADA the boat with trailer average retail is $1505, with racing sails much more. This boat is standard. Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.
Rick's correct, NADA seems a bit overpriced, and Yachtworld only lists asking prices, in order to get selling prices, you have to either be a broker, or know one who's willing to provide them to you.
Are you sure that's a Capri 15? A hull number of 3316 suggests that it's a Capri 14.2. Check out www.capri14.org. That website has excellent tips on what to look for in a used Capri 14.2.
All the information I have on the boat came off the plate attached to the transom. That is all I know about it at the present time. I will check Yachting World and see if I can find anything. Thanks again to all.
Thanks, but I am at a loss for the reason Catalina would put 15 on the plate when it is not? I guess my only real hope is the people who own it can find the paperwork. Thanks again to all for your help.
Well, I finally received all the info and to my surprise the boat is a 1983 Coronado 15 with trailer. It is really a nice boat. I picked it up for just under 10 boat units. The boat has all new standing rigging and new running rigging line still in the package. The main and 2 jibs are a three years old. I will pick it up in late August and with a little Poliglow and varnish this winter she will be ready to go when my Granddaughter visits next summer. Thanks again for all your help guys this is going to be fun sailing.
