I just found out that there will be a Catalina Rendezvous at the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club on November 9-12. The TITYC is located on the Treasure Island Causeway in St. Petersburg, Florida. Visit www.tityc.com for more info. I hope to see some of you there.

Mark, couldn't find any info on the event at tityc, where did you find out about it. That's only a 5 hour drive for us and we don't have any thing planned yet
Any experience with this type of event, what to expect, is it like the B.E.E.R. cruise?
It's the "Catalina Southern Rendezvous" and it's posted at the Catalina Yachts site, here's the link, scroll down a bit and you'll see the post. I'd definitely be interested in the 2 hr ride if some association folks were planning to attend!
Paul, I havn't been to ANY rendezvous ever so this will be my first. I already talked to my wife about it and, well, we can't hardly not go since it is so close to us. I used to sail with my boss on his Morgan Ketch in the Morgan Invasion whenever I was in town. That is usually sponsored by the TITYC every year (except this year since they are redoing the club house) so I think that they know how to put on these events pretty well. Charlie Morgan and Frank Butler (Mr. Catalina, right?) were there recently for some type of event.
By the way, I was down at the local C250 dealer in St. Pete and he told me that the 250 is now (also/only?) built here in Largo at the East Coast Catalina facility. I'm going to try and find out about the possiblity of a factory tour.
Take care and... GO ALINGHI! (Helmed by a St. Pete boy!)
Mark, we're working on Peggy changing her schedule (works in a hospital and they have to plan their 'off requests' months in advance. November is already a done deal, but Pegs is trying to change out with another nurse.
Of course, I suggested that I could take the boat over on Thursday and get it setup, Pegs could drive over on Friday/Saturday (with the gift of no boat prep) to meet up with me on the water and she could drive back on Sunday while I would have to put up with being there Sunday, Monday and return Tuesday.
NOT GONNA HAPPEN THAT WAY!
So she is still looking for a sub.
Would also like to visit the factory. Our boat was made in CA, and the info I got was 'all' C250 manufacture was now in Largo. I looked at one of the boats built there while I was at the Miami Boatshow last Feb, they did a nice job.
