I found this via the ads by google, the link was broken (the english version) so here's the german Foto page.

Note the dual rudders and the handy dandy built in cradle!

Is it really sitting on its keel and rudders in the second to last image using the poles at the sides for balance? Prety stout rudders. Note that it has a tiller, the way sailboats are meant to be built!!

I haven't done any research on this, but that boat looks a lot like one of the Open ocean racing classes (Open 40, 60, 70, etc.) which were intended for single-handed long-distance racing.

OK, a little more research (you can tell I'm a teacher with nothing to do during the summer...)

Check this site for more info:

And a little more (sorry I'm typing before I'm researching...):

There doesn't seem to be an English version, but from what I can read of the German it appears that the design is derived from an Open 60.

And only 152,459 Euros (before taxes - and when I lived there it was about 15% VAT)complete with 30 hp motor, mainsail, genoa with roller furling. I assume a German delivery location.

What a bargain?!?!

In this day and age I wouldn't want to drive a boat named 'Opium' past the coast guard dock. :>)
