My new bimini is probably 4" too tall, do I simply cut the bottom of the main support or do I disassemble it and cut at the assembly joints of each of the three bows?

I purposely ordered mine a few inches too tall, and then cut the inches off the bottoms of the main bow. If you mess with the others, the shape mght end up wrong for the canvas. Remember to do your triangle arithmetic when figuring how many inches to take off the legs that are at about a 45 degree angle. (e.g., to lower 4", cut 5.66".) But also remember you can cut multiple times to get it right--you can't put the pieces back.
