Hi All, I've been busy working on my new boat and have not had a chance to get on the forum lately.....however, I am still getting VERY annoying notes from a current or past member (not sure) named JG. All he does is complain about members of this board. I was in Outlook Express today and got another very negative note from him. So I highlighted his email and hit Block From This Sender and hopefully I will not have to deal with him any longer...
On to better news. I took four days and sailed/motored the new old boat from Gore Bay in the north channel of Lake Huron down to Lake St. Clair. I am tired and sunburned, but had a great trip and had no problems with the old gal. I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and having fun on your boats. Cheers.
Dennis... I'm surprised that as Mainsheet editor you refer to JG as simply an unknown past member as JG was the Mainsheet editor for a good many years and arguably the best the Association has had.
Don't misunderstand, I'm not taking any sides in the struggle he continues to have with leadership... I simply value the effort and great job he did for the Association over a period of many years.
This is an awkward thread. We do not allow personal attacks on this forum, (unless they are about the Commodore) and this thread could go over the edge. However it answers a question that some older member may wonder about. Arlyn is absolutely right, JG was a consummate Feature Editor for our Association section of the Mainsheet Magazine. No association could lose a volunteer like that without it leaving big shoes to fill. I admire Dennis for stepping up to fill those shoes, Dennis did a great job and will also be missed. Sometimes things happen that tie everyone's hands.
