Anyone know how to keep a manual head pump from squeeking? The head in question is a Jabco marine toilet. I have tried silicone oil, loosening the packing nut, and soluable oil to no avail. It still squeeks loud enough to be heard two dock away when in use(especially at night).
Renzo, If different lubricants do not solve it you might try replacing the seal which I am assuming is under the packing nut. It may have hardened or it may have been replaced at some time with one "close" to the original. Can you tell if the noise is from the shaft or within the pump itself? I am not at all familiar with Jabsco toilets but have dealt with a few annoying squeaks in my time.
