I have a 1987 sea ranger sailboat dinghy that has a slow leak. I am wondering how I can tell what type of material it is for repair. Also it seems to be a slow leak and not sure what is the best way and product to fix a small leak and/or large holes.

I had an old Avon - I had to get the HID and kind of root around on the web to find out what it was.
For those that don't know - if it is hapalon (sp) the glue is different than if it is vinyl. They will both work - but the one will only work for a little while if on the wrong material.
I found some at a local dive shop for about $8 for the Aquaseal/cotol combo package. I keep it in my tool box on the boat.

Since I don't know what kind of material your dinghy's made of, not sure how helpful this is, but if it's an inflatable, this is a pretty good place to start.
We have the same (but different) raft which came with our boat when we bought it. It's floor is badly deteriorated and the raft has definitely seen better days. This is what we thought to try to perhaps squeeze a few more years out of it.
