Has anybody replaced their steaming/decklight unit and still have the old one laying around? In some pretty heavy sailing lost the top cap on the steaming light. Maybe it wasn't screwed in tight enough. Anyway, if anyone has that piece and is willing to part with it and the long screw, that would save me a few bux and save me from buying a whole new unit to make it right. Thanks.

forget about saving the money - saving the time to rewire the mast in order to do the job right is worth way more.

Have you called Lowell at CD - they may have the cap for sale.

Yeah, I'll call CD and see if they have the part. No sense pulling the whole unit though when I just need a piece of it. I could buy a regular nav light and just use the new lens and the cap. That saves all the work and some expense.

In case anybody was following this thread...I wound up buying just the nav light (steaming) at WM and then cannibalized it to replace the parts on the Deck/steaming light while hoisted up in bosun's chair. It was considerably cheaper and less time consuming than dropping the mast and replacing the whole unit with new unit even tho Murphy contributed to dragging out the time a bit.
Added benefit...Didn't have top retune the rig.
