I have a couple of questions. Did you make the teak platform, or buy it? What sort of hardware did you use to attach the table to the stern rails? It looks like there are only two attachment points ... how do you keep the table from wobbling?
I also love to improvise, especially when the results look this good ... you did a great job! Time to fire up the grill!
I made the shelf myself in just a short time. I used Oak and cetol and it came out looking like teak. I use J bolts from the local hardware store 49cents each and two thumb knobs also from the same store 1.35 ea. The board was about 6 dollars and the side trim came to 3 dollars. Here is another pic to show just how simple it is. Oh the shelf sits quite stable as one end is attached to the forward pointed rail and the aft section rests on the stern or lateral rail. With the knobs securly tigtened its rock solid. The shelf can be instaled and removed in a few seconds.
'COOL! I wonder ... if Cetol makes oak look like teak, what does Cetol make teak look like?!
