Douglas,

You may want to try asking this in the administrative forum....I know us officers pay attention to that and try to get issues resolved as quickly as possible there.

I also know we have been having some problems with the Tech Tips that Mark is diligently been working to correct.

Yes, you can submit tech tips. The problem that Duane alludes to is small and can be worked around; its effect should disappear when we move tech tips to our newer server.

The issue that has been causing the most grief is mail server filtering software. I cannot get a good answer from technical support, but apparently if your email is over a certain size (in bytes), it is filtered out and not delivered to me. Even some attachments are mistakenly identified as virus threats. The recent proliferation of spam and viruses are causing most organizations to go to filtering software. One unexpected consequence (at least in terms of magnitude), is the effect this "solution" has on legitimate email.

If you send a tip to me and I don't respond (within a week or so), please send me a message without attachments and we may be able to work something out by bypassing the filter.

Thanks for the reply Mark. As with most programs you should be able to turn the filter on or off by using settings. The big problem is knowing when to do so. I will be sending some things on soon and will try to keep file size as small as I can.

Doug,

Unfortunately, we route our email through a third-party service as well as use conventional on-site tools to filter our email. The third party service provides us (my company, not the association) very limited flexibility.
