Just curious . . . has anyone "upgraded" to the Catalina 28 Mk II and if so what did they think of her. I have looked at boat shows however have seen one on display (they always show the @40 footers) but it appears to be the next progression within the Catalina family. Although I firmly believe that used is the way to go with sailboats, I am curious if anyone has stepped up to this model.

I think the answer from this group is "No." Over the years, comments here (and my own observations) were that while the 28-II has nice standing headroon and a little more living space, it's a little light on the storage space that makes it a real upgraded from the C-25 for cruising. There are plenty of nice 30s (and larger) that make better cruisers. Once you decide to depart from a "trailer sailer", you might as well do it right.
