I was surfing around and found this guy's site. A well done site with lots of generic tips. The section on connecting the steering to the outboard got my attention and he has a very simple setup. Also check out the section under "Tips" about Launch checklist. It has an excellent set of photos and narrative describing gin pole mast rasing.
Turns out we have two things in common with Hunter 260 owners. We want to link our rudder and outboard and we hate the large standard table!
George Kobernus is a good guy. In the beginnings I was set on buying a Hunter 260 where George answered some of my questions. The H260 is an attractive design. I was interested in a H260 until I started reading about the common stern joint leak only after a few years of use. So I got myself a C250 only to have my feet in water 1 month after purchase from a WB leak. LOL.
I wonder how his engine link works with the engine raised and if it interferes with steering somewhat. With wheel steering it's probably not as much of an issue. I can only see this type of front engine attachment work if the engine is mounted back. I must warn you Randy that if you can make this work somehow I will be very jealous.
