Another confession. My boat stays in the slip 365 days a year. I am too cheap to buy a sunbrella custom cover for the boat. I have for the past 10 or 12 years used tarps of various size and material. Everything i have tried (heavy duty blue, white, silver tarps) has had to be replaced about every 6 months. I bungee cord them to the stanchions to keep them on. I have problems with leaking around my windows and I once took one out to reseal it and decided that covers would be the way to go after that undertaking.
The windows in the head are no problem. So what I need is a durable material that would run from the mast to a foot or so past the companionway. If anyone has any advice to offer I would really appreciate it.
Thanks Steve

Sunbrella makes several different fabrics that would make a good cover for what your're looking at doing. You might be able to find someone that makes a cover that would run up over the boom using this material.
I would also be interested to know where I can get a full custom cover for my '89? I live in the Houston area and assume it would have to be custom built but if anyone knows of something that's mass produced I would be interested.
I like the look of the vinyl from ebay. I just checked ebay and didn't locate any more. Would you have any idea who the seller was and if he was making them himself?
It seems like most his covers are close to retail now. I guess I got in on some special items. He had about a dozen and they were all just rolled up like sleeping bags, no packaging or anything. I think the trick is still to use google to search for firesales on powerboat road covers. Good luck. I will noodle around a little for you.
I got a quote from Fairclough today and it was $1475. For a couple of hundred more I could buy a trailer I found in Dallas and keep the boat in an exclosed stall out of the sun, wind, and rain. Solves a lot of problems.
I bought an incredibly nice boom tent that covers it all weel. It was made by Miller Marine Canvas in CT and ran around 900 bucks. It looks like it will last as long as I keep this boat. I am going to have them make one for my Whaler. Great value for the quality
