Last night, sailing in 20 knots of breeze I broke my mast in half. Anybody know what a new mast for a standard rig 25 goes for these days? Costs of installation?

My first thought when I saw this thread was....Oh the jokes I could make here...But after reading your post, holy smokes. Only 20kts? were you rigged properly? did something go awry? Is everyone okay? Do you have a replacement cost insurance policy (i would be interested to see how that works out)
Your going to be hard pressed to find or purchase just a mast. You could try calling Catalina Direct?...or maybe start looking for a scrapped 25 tall or standard rig. I don't think the 27 is that much taller in the mast area..that may be an option....Also, check the guy lukenbach in the swap meet area, he had or has a whole bunch of C-25 crap he is peddling.
Good luck and post the details.

In answer to your questions, the precipitating event was that the starboard shroud came dis-attached from the deck fitting. It looks like a cotter pin fell out. Before I could bring the sails down, the whole thing collapsed. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Our incident was the second-most serious of the night. Another boat in the fleet (a US-21)capsized and sank like a stone. No injuries there either. Who says Potomac River racing is unexciting?
EEGADS, Bruce! That'll wake us up! Glad nobody was hurt! I barely missed losing the stick on our previous boat when a closed-body turnbuckle let go--apparently because I hadn't tightened the locknuts enough... I snapped a tack to ease that side of the rig, and we got it hooked up again.
As Duane said, Cat Dir is a place to start--another is Catalina, themselves. At a minimum, they might point you to their source, but you might have to take care of putting the hardware on.
About that "sinking like a stone"... All of us should be very careful to keep the port-side "dumpster" latched--if it opens on a broach to port, we could go down like a brick!
Good luck getting your stick back up! (Fuggetaboutit, Duane!)

I dont know about where you are on the east coast but here in Seattle there a a couple of places where you can purchase a spar or mast. It all depends what type of extrution you want. There must be somwhere near you. Its cheaper than going to Catalina.
Last year I asked Catalina Direct what the price of a new standard mast was. They said about $800 for the extrusion; now probably more. But then you have to drill all the holes and mount all the hardware from your old mast.
