How's this for perspective, a sailor friend of mine from the old country says his CD25D sails like a school bus compared to my C25 ferrari.
I actually had a chance to helm that boat I showed. Reaching at 15 kts in an 18-20 knot breeze with the Asym up....Garner is right, that boat is a nice ride.
I also feel badly that we all kind of (mostly me) hijacked this thread because we didn't like the idea of a wheel.... Here are some links for chuck

My friend who owns an old IOR racer lent me a book entitled something like "racing the cruiser, cruising the racer" when we sold the Santana 20 and were debating what kind of sailboat was right for us. Still don't buy that idea. And still haven't seen a 25' boat that cruises near as well as a Catalina.
Back on the wheel/tiller thing, another advantage of the tiller I didn't see here is that for a small investment (relatively speaking) and with a very simple installation, you can have a wonderful autopilot. It's a much bigger deal with a wheel. (Just check the WM catalog.)
And I agree--the one C-25 I've seen with a little wheel on a big pedestal looked STUPID.

HMMMMMM.
My C25 won a racing series against past champions. I'm consistently faster than other boats around me in 'unofficial' races. You know the kind - whenever two boats are within sight of each other, one of them is racing.

Or about 20 other really, really slow models....not to mention the MacGregor guy can just throw in the towel and have a guranteed first back at the bar
