We (south fla) have been out of net since about 6pm today, it affected bellsouth.net comcast and many other providers.

Seems it was a major DNS issue somewhere.
Not sure how long it's been back up, but it's 1am now.

Oddly enough there was not a mention of the event in the local news. It affected millions of netizens for about 5 hours. For some that may have meant more than not being able to surf the net, webmail users were out of luck, ebay bidders were out of time, bank customers were probably charged overdrafts if they didn't manage their last minute transactions, and I could not get to the forum!
