I don't remember who but a while ago someone asked to see what a diesel in a C25 looks like. Here are a few pictures.

Thanks! I guess the quarterberth area that's lost is the part we never used... How's maintenance in that "room"?

In the pictures the side and front panels are removed. When they are in place and the only access is through small openings, I need to look at the pictures in the mamual and find most maintenance places by feel. Imagine trying to figur out why that thing is overheating in the dark

I noticed a lot of black soot stains on the inside of your boat. Do you get much smell from the diesel in side your boat? If it's staining that badly at the back does it get everywhere inside the boat?

I see you did not read my post in the cruising section. No, normally there is no soot inside the boat. What happened is that the muffler got disconnected and the exhaust blew all over the place. The engine is actually out of the boat getting rebuilt. And there is 3 hours' scrubbing worth less soot now. I got everything inside the engine compartment. One more trip to clean the living areas and she should be pretty clean, time for a nice layer of bilgekoat or barrier coat, can't quite decide. Gotta figure out which is easier to put over irregular surfaces.

Just wondering about the weight of the engine. Do you ride bow up a little? That's got to be quite a bit heavier than a 9.9 O/B...

...and quite a bit closer to amidships. There's a diesel C-25 near me--she sits nicely on her lines.

ilnadi,
I can't remember if I told you this, but when I was looking for boats before I bought my 250 I'm pretty sure I was looking at yours. There can't be that many 89 TR diesels that were for sale in Southport. If a recall the owners were officers in the yacht club there. The lack of a trailer to get her back to Atlanta killed the deal.

If all goes as planned I might be seeing you on the Pamlico come summer time. I'm now looking at house plans to build over near Belhaven, in North Creek.

Probably was the same one, with maroon sail cover and Bimini. I don't know if you remember but you were oen of the people who helped us struggle through buying a boat with a baby over on Trailer Sailor.

Man, at this rate we're going to have enough 25-footers around the Neuse/Pamlico area for a nice cruising fleet. Ed (Abrams?) was talkign about moving to Oriental and I know there are two more 25's in Oriental although I do not know who owns them. Scott is in Vandmere I think, I know there is one in Beaufort, one in Adams Creek and I think one more up around New Bern. There are 26 C25's and 2 C250s listed in NC.

It's just a matter of time for us. Just waiting to retire. We already own a lot on Broad Creek. Not to far from the new River Dunes Community.
