I have a deadline for the 15th for the tech tips, I have nothing to add except for all the ice, and how to cut thousands of tree limbs with a chain saw------ We got hit hard.

If anyone has a quick teck tip, and a photo I will post it in the mainsheet. Thanks.

How about using foam pipe insulation to cover teak handrails for winter storage? Or using a children's plastic snow shovel to dig out the cockpit? That's all I've got.

Chris: Hope all comes out OK! What a mess!

Chris - I hope your boat is ok. Sounds like keeping your boat safe in an ice storm might be a relevant topic. I took the mainsail off the boat and put the outboard up in the cabin to get some weight off the stern. I was visualizing the motor turning into a block of ice, hanging off the transom. We haven't had an ice storm yet this year, but I want to be ready.

we had 6 trees fall on the house, the boat is on the hoist, motor is in the garage allong with all of the sails, I have not checked on the boat, last year when we got all of the snow, our hoist was one of five that did not sink from the extra weight.

Did I ever show before & after photo of the beast?

New paint top (interlux yacht enamel, non skid) to bottom (Interlux 2000E epoxy & Vivid white). New hardware (mostly Garhauer). Some new sails (Doyle Asso, & EP Main). New portlights (windows) from cruising concepts.

Wow, looking good, very clean. It seems a little strange to see the cabin top without the mast. I see you have the Forespar tiller lock boxes in the side coamings. Do you use those? Do they work well? There is one that came with my boat, but isn't installed. I have the Forespar tiller extension and was trying to decide whether to install it.

Yep it works, and yes I use it more for single handing than anything else.
