OK, enough with association politics. Back to the boat!
We discovered that access to the V berth storage was severely limited by the fact that the storage cover board is cut port-starboard while the cushions are split fore-aft. You basically have to remove everything to get to the big storage area down there.

I read about the mod on Arlyn’s web site and basically did what he did. Hey, the guy has already done every C250 mod!! I used ½” birch-faced plywood. I used the old cover as a template to a large piece of heavy paper. Then I cut out the form and folded it in half fore-aft and then cut along the fold. Voila, the new templates! Surprisingly, the two halves are NOT mirror images of each other. I then varnished the wood, three coats, and added a stainless steel continuous hinge held in place with 30 stainless steel screws. Then I folded the unit over and drilled a 1” hole for opening and carrying just as Arlyn suggests. Great tip.

We intend to use the storage area for the shore power cables, poptop cover, extra anchor and rode and mast raising equipment (working on a gin pole mod for on-water mast handling). This storage space can now be a functional part of our cruising setup.
We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.
