I made a mast support out of 2” PVC pipe. The base is a “T” and is through-bolted to the mast step. At the top are another “T” and an elbow. I can run a strap through the top stuff and around the mast to hold the mast in place.
Quick and easy!
We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.
Much better than my 4x2. And I like the way you accounted for the offset. I presume your aft mast support is set on seperate brackets and not on the rudder pintals.

any special reason that the rudder pintals were not used?
Jah, On our C250WB (#841) our dealer installed the 2nd set of pintals. We say thank you to him every time we trail the boat, I have never taken the rudder off! But would have to add that to the prep/deprep routine which is something we work at minimizing.
FYI, now we keep the aft mast support in place on the water too! Several reasons: a) Although I have a pickup (F150) I would not leave it in the truck bed. b) The pole is just too wide to fit in the back of the truck passenger area. c) One day I'll have figured out everything for on the water mast raising/lowering and will need the aft mast support.
Randy, I will have to get a replacement pin to secure the mast holder to the pintals/gudgeons as the original is not stainless!
I think this is a good idea, but I don't have the two sets of gudgeons like you guys do, but I keep thinking about installing them, it'd be nice to not have to remove my rudder each time I rig & derig. Admittedly now that we have the marina it's not as often as before. I was pretty uncomfortable leaving my rudder support in the back of my truck as well, but figured out that it and our access ladder will both fit behind the seats of our F-250 as long as they're both collapsed.
We have the second set of gudgeons. Would be a major pain to have to remove the rudder each time.
The mast is about 30" above the mast plate. It is held in the rear by the mast crutch and the front on the trailer mast tower. I like it raised off the deck so that it is easier to get around and when we tarp it I can work in the cockpit and get around to all the areas on the deck.
I have a wing keel so I have no experience with mast supports, but is there a concern that you'd hit a bump and the bouncing/flexing mast could fracture the 2" PVC just below the upper T?
Al, the Nauti Duck is also a wing keel but we do trailer it. The mast is strapped down at both ends and on the PVC mast support. We have towed the boat over 3,000 miles with PVC mid-mast support with no problem. Worse case the PVC breaks and you lose mid-mast support. Not a big deal.
