My "obsession" to move up to a 30 from my 250 has been cured. Sailed on one yesterday, first time. It's a fine vessel but not for me. Too many electrical and mechanical systems and not a good boat to solo at age 75. So, PRETTY PENNY, we shall not desert you. Thanks for all your collective pro and con inputs.
Frank that is pretty much why I downsized to the C250. It is just easier for those of use getting older. I especially was concerned about single handing, primarily docking without my wife having to grab dock lines, pilings, or cleats and getting hurt. I could dock the C27 ok (gone thanks to hurricane Charley) and the 250 is even easier. The 32 was scary. The dock is a 25 ft finger pier attache to a concrete sea wall. I will say that their are times when I long for the heavier 32 like in 3 to 5 sea conditions and of course it was much more forgiving when making maneuvers incorrectly. The 250 reacts to everything much quicker but that is a challenge that can usually be dealt with from the cockpit thus saving the old knees. One other thing, the C250 is the first boat I ever had that has no holes below the waterline, I love it. Bob
Bob, I've got one hole beneath the water line: the intake for my marine head; came with the boat, but no problems so far. (I'm a U of W grad, B.A. in Drama, '58.) Some 27's had outboards and not inboards. If I could locate one of those I'd reconsider "moving up".

Remember, Frank, the 27 is shorter at the water line.

Drama, suspense, finally the conclusion... but not quite! (Option for sequel.)

Yeah, University of Washington, Seattle. Go Huskies!

Right on Frank, i grew up near UW, took a few classes there in the 50s and worked at the HUB for a while. The only time I was ever happy to see the Huskies lose was a couple years ago, 1st game of the season against Air Force. My grandson was the starting kicker for the Falcons that day on national TV. WOW!!!
