I am building a trailer for a C25 fin keel. I have read many of the threads on trailer and cradle dimentions but still need help with two measurements. I am trying to determine the best place for the bow eye attachment. Does anyone have fin keel trailer measurements for the horizontal distance from the center axle to the bow eye and the vertical distance from the bottom of the keel to the level of the bow eye?
The best trailers have the bow stop built to be movable, this allows the boat to be set on the trailer the first time with the right tongue weight and then they slide the bow stop up to the bow. After that the stop is in the right place and helps you position the boat when loading.
I plan on making the bow stop some what adjustable (fore and aft). Is 156" from the center of the axles a good starting point? This is what was recommended for a swing keel.
Also, how high should the bow stop be to make a good connection with the bow eye?
