Here is another link. This article centers around the C-22, but it gives insight into the numbering schemes used by Catalina Yachts. The article states that the "M" preceding the 2-digit year was used from 1978 to 1984 but labels its use as mysterious. During this period, the month designation started with F for January, G for February, etc. making C = October as Don stated above. However, that changed in 1984 when A was assigned to January, B to February, C to March, and so on.
I don't know yet about a gift. This past year she got new (used) headsails (135, 155). The year before a new motor. Just now bottom paint and compounding/wax the topsides. Probably I'll give her an early gift of new ends on the spinnaker pole.
A new Ullman main is on the list for someday.
I've done so much work on Indiscipline, she's just about right for me now, not much left to do.
