Generally, the mainsheet is piled loose on the cockpit floor, under the tiller, while sailing. In the slip, it's tied to the boom as in the pic.
And yes, I will use a shackle, in fact, bought one today at WM along with the permanent line, 5/16"...and a few "necessary" other things. Hehe!
...where do you guys store your mainsheet?

I tied the tiller up against the mainsheet with a little hunk of rope, coiled the tail of the sheet with a loop cinched into the top, and hung the loop on the tiller.

I coil mine and then attach it to the stern rail with a slipped clove hitch - it looks very tidy and keeps the sheet completely out of the way.

With my mainsheet hardened I separate the four lines into to two sections and set the coil of line there. I have never had the coil come out ad that includes many storms and very high winds.

Frank,

What kind of fittings do you use to mount your bimini as in your picture above.

It's interesting that Frank's bimini is aft of the backstay.

Is that a storage position? ... or simply a Kansas drogue chute!

You must move it to a more forward spot to deploy the bimini.

I transferred my bimini from the C-22 rather than buy a new one (it's only 2 years old). It's wider than yours and mounts close to your position just about in the middle of the deck but outside the coaming.
