Prospector, thanks for the offer of handling this for me. Since the order has already gone through let's just see how much they're gonna hit me for. I think I need to move to the states, anyone looking for a good ERP implementer?

ERP = Enterprise Resource Planning. Accounting, Inventory management, Manufacturing... The software takes care of the whole business process from Quote to Cash.
Randy, how about a certified SAP Business One Implemenation consultant with C#.NET and strong SQL coding? No experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle. Available for a TN visa. I can send you my resume if you wish.

(Our business was primarily for PeopleSoft and Oracle.)
You could get a Systems Analyst job in government in Oregon easy. I manage a municipal IT shop and we routinely help foreign workers get their work visas. I know of several openings in the Eugene area where .Net and SQL expertise will get you in. All the government agencies around here use PeopleSoft/Oracle.
If you are interested I can shop your resume around.
Received my 2 Kayaks today. Was very suprised to see that I did not need to pay any customs or sales tax! I used the normal post this time. What can Brown do for me (UPS)? Stick it where the sun don't shine, because they charged me about $50 for shipping + $80 for customs the taxes last time when I purchased a BBQ off ebay.
Of course I had to set one up in the living room and sit in it. Came with a pump. Overall they look good and I think we're going to have fun with these. Sea trials to come...when the ice melts...Only 2 more months!

I thought last time I purchased something from WM Mail order, they indicated some purchase amount and over that, the shipping was free. Maybe it was a limited offer or it may be their std policy. Amazon offers a similar thing for certain purchases - If over a certain amount - shipping free.
The benefit of getting the items when the WM Mail Order has it but the WM local store does not, is that you generally can return items to the local store and avoid having to ship items back independently (ie. defective merchandise).
I did pay for shipping, but no sales tax or customs. At first I thought it was a mistake, but I bought 2 kayaks and to apply the coupon to both had to purchase on 2 seperate orders. The orders came in seperate (to different post offices!) and both had no extra charges for me. On the first Kayak pickup I stood there waiting for the clerk to tell me how much, but he just said "thank you". Thought I just benefited from a mistake, but the second Kayak was the same!
