Anyone have tiller specs handy? Got snowed on over the weekend and unable to measure the boat.
Heard some cracking from the handle during the final regatta last year (20G35 on D1), should have replaced over the winter but procrastination mode kicked in...
CP25 #183 - Team Short Bus Capri25 Measurer 2007(ish)-2010 Douse: [dous] v, a: to lower or take in suddenly; b: to stow quickly; c: ease, with vigor --- Regret is the bastard child of desire and inaction.
I had the old tiller I took off our boat. It has been laying out in the rain so it is even worse than when I took it off, but there is still enough of it left to measure I think. If I measure straight across from the tip to the butt end it is 39 1/2 inches. If I measure around the curve it is about 40 inches. The squared off sides on the butt end are 2 1/2 by 1 1/2 and that runs about 5 inches up the handle.
Cool, thanks! One more question: Can you tell how much "rise" there is? In other word, with the butt end flat on the table how high is the end of the handle off the table?
Ok, if you turn it upside down the tip curves up about 3 1/4". It has a bit of an s curve to it so it curves up about an inch on the butt end then into a longer curve toward the front. If you turn it right side up the height in the middle of the longer curve at about an 13 inches from the front is about 2 1/2".
