I need to put a mast pad eye on the boat so we can start using the whisker pole. Does anyone know a specific model that fits the C250 mast? Would like the manufacturer and part #. Thanks.

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

You have a Forespar pole, don't you? I bet they would know...

Randy, I installed a Forespar padeye. CLICK HERE
I had to bend it quite a bit though to match the curve of the mast.

Al, I need it to fit the mast. Dave, thanks for the link. I was hoping to get one that didn't need adjusting. Was yours hard to bend to fit?

I meant that since Forespar wants to sell you their products, they might know what fits what, i.e., what pad eye matches the curvature of a C250 mast.

Also keep in mind the TR and SR mast are different diameters.

Randy,
I have a padeye installed on my mast by the P.O. that was set up for the hank-on 155 I used when I bought the boat. I replaced the 155 with a 135 furler and now the height of the padeye is incorrect as the 155 was a deck sweeper and the 135 has the furler cut. So I need to move my padeye which means more holes in the mast.

A better (more costly) solution is to install a length of sail track and use a track mountable padeye. This will allow you to adjust to different sails in the future or adjust the padeye if you are using the furler in a reefed position.

Randy,
I use a 6-12 whisker pole. I mounted this WM Mast Pad Eye on my boat. If I recall, I mounted it 36" off the deck (drilled and tapped the mast). You can search this forum to confirm mounting height - that's where I found the mounting height. Works great for me.

Randy,
I used a vise and a big crescent wrench to bend the Forespar padeye to fit. It appears to be designed for a MUCH bigger mast. It's not perfect, but it looks solid.

Randy,

I had Schooner Creek install a pad eye since the boat was there for some other stuff. I bought one, but they did not use it because it did not fit the mast right. If you don't find the answer otherwise, please let me know and I can have them look up in their records and find out what they ordered and installed.

The track mountable padeye sounds like the way to go to me. Where did you get that track mountable padeye, and what size sail track did you get to use with it? Thanks - "Navy Too"

The track mountable padeye is available through West Marine or Defender.

Or go to Defender.com and do a search for "spinnaker ring".
