Peggy just told me that she can get the time off to go to Bimini in June (weekend of June <s>6th.</s> 13th.)
We have 2 stink potters joining us. Currently the plan is this: Launch, overnight anchorage, transit bimini, 2nights at bimini on board, transit back to Miami, overnight on the hook, day sail to retrieval.
Slightly more details:
Friday June 13th. Launch Black Point Marina and Sail to Pumpkin Key for overnight.
Saturday June 14th. COD Motor out of Angel Fish Creek to transit to Bimini (guestimate 12 hours) (PBt buddies to fly past us) arrive late afternoonish, 1st night stay at Bimini (probably on the boat.)
Sunday June 15th. explore, socialize, relax, etc. 2nd night stay at Bimini.
Monday June 16th. Transit East (Miami), overnight on the hook unless we make really good time.
Tuesday June 17th. Transit IWC back to Black point to haul out.
Wednesday June 18th. Spare day
Looking for 2nd sailboat to make the trip (don't want to do it alone even if there are a couple of PowerBoaters within hailing distance) (they plan on spending the day fishing ahead of us.)
I'm a one man show in a 240 unit Self Storage facility. Right now I don't have a part timer so I can't get away at all. And because of the housing market slump I'm pretty slow so am not really looking for someone right now. It'd be awful cool if I had a month though, I'd sail down (would take 5 days probably), hang out for a few days, go to Bimini and back with you, hang around for a few more and then sail home. What an adventure that would be! Give me a few years and I bet I'll find a way to pull it off ..............

I feel your pain! Same here, there's me, me and I help out on the side!
I write internet based software for clients and myself. The last few months have been burning several candles at both ends preping to launch my new online service (overdue by one week right now.) Peggy is a nurse at a local hospital and works toooo many hours towards retirement in the next couple of years (yea right!)
She will burn up half her summer vacation for this trip and I spoke to me and his boss and they both agreed that I need a break too, at least I will by June!

Have fun

Despite the current grey skies, we're still on for Bimini this weekend. We have several 'Decision' points, one is this evening. Our buddy (24'fisherman) has reservations that have cancellation fees after today, tomorrow and Friday.
JD is just about ready, last minute electric bilge pump is installed but I need to put a new thruhull for the discharge.
Currently our plan is to depart Angel Fish Creek at 00crackodawn and maintain at least 5.0knts vmd even if we have to motorup. We'll stay sat & sun night, departing 00crackadawn monday unless weather changes that.
Now, if we could take off 3 weeks, our (just joined) sailing club has 5 boats island hopping around the bahamas for 2 1/2 weeks.
I have a couple of short videos, (I took them) The admiral didn't pick up the camera the entire trip! But then she did make really good friends with the garbage can. (she's over it now )
Yes, passport is required! (And you have to clear customs and immigration, ideally with no more than 4 people on the boat or it's extra)
13Hours under motor, but not pushing the throttle, the wind and waves were not conducive to sailing on the trip there. On the trip back, we did sail for a few hours till the wind both turned and dropped.
Plan on more than one day there! We were exhausted (severe weather on the trip there).
