I washed the hull this afternoon and will finish waxing tomorrow. I touched-up the bottom paint and repaired the little gelcoat nick on the bow.

Couple of cool tools. I used a "Mr Clean" bathroom cleaning wand. I was looking for something in the cleaner aisle of my local grocery and the ad for "no rinsing required" hit me in the head. I figured it would work because it was designed for use on fiberglass shower surrounds. Gelcoat is gelcoat. My boat is at least a couple of hundred feet from the nearest water source and it wasn't all that warm today anyway. So, I gave it a try. It worked great. Now, the hull wasn't terribly dirty but this cleaner worked real well.

Next trick. I was in the local hardware store the other day and mentioned to a fellow sailor that I had a small gelcoat chip to repair and was looking for some fiberglass repair stuff. He showed me a $25 kit but walked right past it to the appliance repair area. He suggested using the stuff you use to repair dings on your porcelain on steel appliances. 4 bucks! It's what he uses. I tried it an it seems to have worked well. I guess the proof will be in the fall.

Wax tomorrow! Splash in 10 days. Sure hope the motor starts!

I washed the decks and hull Friday and got the outboard ready for the season. Went out today to wax and bottom paint but it rained all day. Our goal is to get those tasks done this week and then launch next weekend.

Biggest project of the week was to install the new propane tank with OPB valve and the new propane locker top from Seaward. Also mounted the clock, teak storage racks and carbon monoxide detector that I got for Christmas.

I can't wait to launch!!
