We have a date with the boat yard to get our boat hauled and bottom painted. I am feeling a bit of high anxiety because it will be the first time we have had it out of the water since we bought it last fall. I'm wondering if there is any special advice or tips on lifting it. It has a keel bolt lift point. Is it better to lift it by the keel or is it ok/better to lift it in a sling? Is there any particular problems I should look out for?
Use travel-lift if available. I use 4 jackstands under the boat and two more to rotate them to paint the places were the pads rested. If and when you paint the boot stripe, paint it in the afternoon on the travelift 2 coats and splash the next morning.
