Over the past year or so, I've noticed that the slideing hatch has become difficult to slide open. About one foot foward from the aft end ot the hatch, a "round hump" in the perfectly shaped hatch is forming, causeing it to rub up against the Sea Hood when pushed about two feet open, wearing away the non-skid. Any thoughts? ABRAXIS
I have the same problem. Not as sever as yours yet, just a couple small bubbles, but now I'm worried it may get worse.
Just thinking...wondering if it would be possible to rig up some kind of a clamping system with 2x4's, some shim blocks and big c clamps, or some kind of a press, that would compress it back together. Maybe drill some small holes and inject some kind of epoxy and then clamp it down until the epoxy sets.
The cover is solid, not cored and in my case the "hump" is about 6" in diameter and rises up appx. 5/16". Thinking about putting a cinder block on top of it and applying a heavy duty heat gun (carefully) from below. Will think this out over the summer as the boat is on the hard, while I'm up north til the fall.
