My dealer told me today that the aft berth in our new boat will NOT have the swirly, pastel 1980s fabric on the mattress; this has apparently been replaced by some sort of neutral beige or something like this.
Has anyone seen this new fabric color online anywhere?
Thanks, Martin

I'd be happy to trade and take that awful beige off your hands. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Yeah, we were going to outfit everything on the boat to go for a Miami Vice theme to match the interior. Now, I guess we'll have to go with "boring".

When do you take ownership Martin?

The boat should be here (in Nevada) in the next couple of weeks. We're thinking that we'll have her in the water (Lake Tahoe) in May.
I thought I saw the material you are describing at the Annapolis show, it was definately a bit more elegant than the swirly vinyl. I have navy cloth with a small white pattern in it from the factory, I had ordered the upgraded fabric but had not seen it beforehand. I like it better than anything else I've seen but I have yet to see it in another boat.

I wish they had just used the same blue fabric that they used on the cushions. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
I agree! That swirly fabric was awful! It was very thin and prone to holes. We replaced that as soon as we could with dark navy with sailboats and much more durable fabric. We ordered the fabric at a local fabric center, and had an upholsterer finished the job. We backed it with vinyl on the bottom to avoid the condensation that can form on the sides and bottom of the boat that gets the cushion wet. Of course with a new boat you won't have any coaming compartment leaks - heck, you don't have any coaming compartments!
