Randy will like them.. all stainless .. but no indication that it's 316SS.
But price wise they are very low. The complete turnbuckle is the same price as WM t-bolt and toggle (I bought one yesterday from WM in fort lauderdale)
Critical component in a critical function.
Right now I'm just going to order the new toggles from WM online (WM part number 166660)
IMHO: Not so much the open or closed part that's really important... it's that the turnbuckle body should NOT BE STAINLESS. A stainless turnbuckle body threaded to stainless stay ends will love to gall unless kept lubricated. What you want is a bronze or (more commonly found) a chrome-plated bronze body.
I had a vacation ruined by having an all stainless turnbuckle seize up and ruin the threads on one of the upper stays when I was splashing the boat a couple hundred miles from home. Got rid of 'em.
Find out if they are Chinese knock-offs first. This is the closed-body style that everyone seems to be replacing with open-body barrels. And I agree, no SS to SS connections, especially in a salt-water environment. Probably not so critical in fresh water areas.
