To all Canyon Lake sailors:

Just called the Canyon Lake Marina hot-line and Steve said that lake is officially open again as of tomorrow morning, Thursday, August 28th! A slight detail is that apparently none of the boat ramps on the lake are open, so the only boaters allowed for now are ones with wet-slipped boats already in the water, which should be most of you. Still no word on when any ramps will be officially available for use.

The marina is going to start running the shuttle to the marina on a much more frequent basis every day, not just on Saturday and Sunday. Sorry, I don't remember the exact times. You can call 210-935-4333 to hear the hot-line recording with the details.

Sounds like they are even planning a hamburger/hot dog cookout on the "island" at Papa Dock's during the upcoming Labor Day weekend!

Bren, Derek,
I have it ready to go!...I will make plans to splash on (Monday) Labor Day...I have a soccer tournament to coach in San Antonio so that is crimping my plans. I am going to work all day tomorrow to see if I can move it up to Friday so I can have all day Monday to enjoy the Lake. Bren....you are invited if I get this acomplished! My motor is in Sequin getting the 1 year service,...they better be finished! Our prayers have finally been answered! Let's go sailing.
Steve

PS Derek,
We need to get this race thing going while my bottom is clean!

Steve,

Thanks for the invite! Unfortunately I've got to work this weekend and won't be in town Monday. I will, however, be able to walk the docks and do some parts shopping in San Diego on Monday, so it's not all a loss. If I'm REAL lucky I might be able to hop on a Capri 22 for a couple of hours while I'm there.

Hope to see you out at the lake soon! Hope all of y'all have a fun-filled, safe weekend of sailing!

Steve,

Thanks for the news on the road! Actually, I was at the lake Saturday. Great morning of gentle winds, unlike the blow of Sunday. Don't think I would have been on the water Sunday, either! Likewise, I looked for you at the marina and then later chased a 250WK down the lake thinking it was you, but it was #583. Any idea who that is?

Diane and I are planning on making a quick trip this weekend to Kemah for the 'on the water' boat show. Mark Melchoir will be there, too. Hopefully I can sneak in a quick sail on Monday. Have a good weekend!
