Boat is at home due to Izzy. What a scary drive through 30-40 mph and driving rains last night! One quick project before I lug her back is adding a 2nd battery. Who had the drawing that was posted-was it Leon? I purchased a TrueCharge 10 amp charger and want 2 batts for the Jenny. Thanks to all. Good luck to all that face Isidore. I didn't build it exactly like the picture, but it's real close. I'm ommitting the "house/cranking parallel sw w/key", and plan to use a DPDT remote control switch on each battery combiner instead. Also, the battery charger temp sensor goes on the NEG battery terminal, not the POS as shown. The overload protection circuitry in the house/cranking battery combiner will guard against a short circuit at one end of that cable run, but some sort of over current protection should be added to the other end to be completely safe. If a pair of #6AWG cables bolted to a fresh group 24 cranking battery were to short out in the bilges (because a spare anchor slid around and tore through the insulation for instance), that would be a bad thing. Also, if you don't already have a [OFF/1/BOTH/2] high current battery selector switch, I wouldn't run out and get one just to comply with this drawing. Those things have fallen out of vogue, and are kinda passe these days. Good move on the StatPower TrueCharge, I got the 20Plus model.
