Hi Everyone,

I've been combing the forum posts, but I can't seem to find this exact bit of data.

Does anyone know - as precisely as possible - the gross towing weight for a C-250 wing keel?


The data I have are:

From the <i>Certificate of Origin for a Vehicle</i> from <u>Road King Trailers of Florida</u>:

<b>G.V.W.R. 7000 LBS
SHIPPING WEIGHT 1200 LBS
MODEL RKGSK 250TB 5800 NET
</b>
(This seems to imply a maximum of 7000 lbs.)

<b>Catalina 250 Wing Keel Specifications; Displacement: 4,200 lbs.</b>


So, with these two bits of information, it looks like the towing weight of the boat and trailer ONLY (no outboard, no fuel, no water...) is about 5,400 lbs.

I suspect that the total weight being towed would be about 6,000 lbs, but I would be interested in hearing any "real" numbers that anyone might have.

Yes, GVWR of 7,000 is total weight on the trailer/including the trailer. Your numbers look good, just remember that anything at all you have in the boat that did not come with it from the factory will increase the weight...and, these things always weigh more than we think.
