I have been trying to figure out how to get this boat on the water. I have not so I have decided that I would like to part the little lady out! I would prefer to sell her as a whole and let someone fix her up, I cant find the title for her.
She is complete and would prefer to sell it all. I can deliver near Austin. She has good blue vbirth cushions and the brown plaid ugly ones in the salon. Let me know what you would like as I need to get her out of my storage spot and get my new Catalina 250 on the trailer if I need to pull it out. I ahve all the rigging, rudders, tiller, *new never installed CD chainplate upgrade * main sail and standard jib. The main may be sold to a fellow member if he still wants it * stern pushpit, lifelines and stanchions * any interior piece, teak trim *fiberglass panels, anchor locker door, cockpit locker cover, teak crib boards, pulleys, tackle, ..... Like I said the boat is complete except that the keel is rusty and a few little pieces here and there. Dan
I have found that shipping something that size is far cheaper shipping by Greyhound Bus, believe it or not. Also, the stern pulpit could be cut in half, shipped and then welded back together. I had that done to a bow pulpit and you can't tell where it was welded. Just a thought. Ed
I tried to email all those who have asked a question. Please let me know if you ahve any other questions. i am new to selling a parts boat so please bear with me. If I have not answered you , please re-email me Dan
Hi! I specifically need all 6 annodized aluminum exterior window frames. Might they be available and if so for how much. Mine were painted and are corroding. You can email me at Glenn@AcupAltMedCenter.com
How sad... Dan, I don't know about Texas, but there are many states that don't require a title to register a boat--all they want is a Bill of Sale so they can collect sales tax.
Once the parts are gone, what's gonna become of the hull, deck and keel?
I guess it goes to the dump. I would rather someone buy the whole boat and use her. I am about to start stripping her of all her parts and hate to see a good vessel go down to the dump. If there is someone who lives in a non title state and wants to buy a good boat let me know! i can give a bill of sale and may even deliver if it is not too far away.
Well, that's a complete about-face, TXbigfoot, but understandable, since that's what happened to me when I found my Hunter 25 in great shape & dirt cheap. I stopped all work on my '79 C25.
I just got back from Texas on Wednesday and finally have some pictures of my Cat 25. If anyone is interested in hybridizing two C25s, let TXbigfoot and me know. I'm not sure I'm ready to strip mine down for parts yet, especially since that darned old Dave B. stirred up potential legal/environmental issues with sinking her in a home-brew scuba diving park.
I know my dump won't take a complete hull, it would have to be sectioned up with a chainsaw and taken in pieces to the landfill. Where & how are you thinking about dumping yours, TXbf?
Jmurfy, a couple of years ago I ordered new hatchboards from Catalina Direct and they double-shipped, so I now have two brand new, unused sets. (Catalina Direct double billed me too, so I didn't get any freebies.)
Randall did you ever get your title for your boat? If so maybe you can buy my boat and use it for parts or make a complete boat out of the two. what did you decide you wnated for yours after all?
Another alternative to sinking the boat in Lake Travis is to sell/donate it to one of the private dive parks located around the state. Most are located in abandoned quarries or sandpits. There's one down here near Manvel, Tx. They would probably love to have it. There's also one somewhere near Huntsville.

(I am old...) I think I just suggested you make sure you can show you didn't own it when it went down.
