My new 250 is now in the water with a Honda 9.9 - Problem: although the engine is at the lowest tilt position and tilt adjustment, it still is tilted slightly up and out of the water, only about an inch or 2. Should I loosen the engine and add a wedge on the outside of the transom to push it down? Any suggestions to solve this problem would be very much appreciated. Could the engine be mounted incorrectly? Has anyone with same engine had the same problem? Thank you.
on my boat , I have the stainless motor mount .that puts the the motor off the boat a foot or two . where the motor sits its angeled in , instead of straight up and down like on the boat .
that might help ,its only 4 bolts to put it on (you have to drill the transom) it would be alot easer to do when the boats out of the water .
mabe sombody has a better idea , with what you have .
There are plenty of other Hondas on C-250 transoms... I'm not sure I picture what's going on, but somebody should be able to assure you of a way to get the correct trim (unless the new model has a differently raked transom).
My Honda is bolted right to the transom. I also believe the pin (storage) has been removed and not in use. This allows the motor to tilt closer if I recall? I don't think the pin serves any purpose when you have the power trim?
