Hello 25 Fans. I was out last weekend with my new 150 Genoa from FX, I adjusted my fairlead back about a foot and broke of the pin/ring that allows the fairlead to slide forward and aft. Apparrently the head of the pin was weak where the hole was created for the ring and broke in half. The pin has half its head but is more difficult to adjust.
Question: Anyone know know if I can just replace the pin or do I have to replace the fairlead? And where can I get those items? I assume Catalina direct would have them. But...$$$$
When Catalina chooses a hardware provider they pretty much make the company's business plan. Original hardware came from a company called Seaway. I think some confuse the S for Schaefer but Catalina would never use that high a grade of hardware. Seaway is now defunct and Catalina uses Garhauer. I personally found Garhauer products to be poorly designed and made out of too light of material. That said, the 25 series genoa car Don has linked to is probably the best product Garhauer makes and a very good buy.
