Does anyone have any experience with the Lazy Jack kit from sail care - shown here http://www.sailcare.com/sailcradle.shtml

I have a brand new fully battened main and keeping it off the deck/roof is an attractive option.

Also, what about the the tiller lock, shown here http://www.sailcare.com/tillerlock.shtml.

I saw an idea using a bungee and locker hasps, but I don't have opposing hasps on my lockers!

I used Sail Cradle for years. Very easy to install and they supply all parts, drill bits, etc.
Some advantages are you can raise sail port or starboard just by returning lines to clips on mast do not have to worry about wind when releaseing.
No more accidentental jams.
Just remember place clips on boom in respect to batts on sail.

You "used Sail Cradle for years" which assumes you no longer use it. May I enquire as to why?

Also, what do you mean by "place clips on boom in respect to batts on sail"? I have a fully battened main.

Thank you.

BTW, 63 reads, only one response! Is this topic so without controversy?

OK, I'll add some controversy...

Controversy? You want Controversy?
Only girly men would humiliate themselves by having lazyjacks on a 25 foot boat... enjoy.

I had the SailCradle on my 22' Catalina Capri and was satisfied with the performance.
When I moved up to the Catalina C250, one of the first things I did was add the SailCradle package.
Then I moved up to the Catalina 310, where a Dutchman flaking system came with the boat as standard.

When you flake your main sail, the battens need support in certian areas to make the flaking process easy to managed, the SailCradle clips are shown in red circles in photo.

If you run picture in slide mode it produces a better picture.
