Well, My wonderful boat Cornbread has been a lot of fun this year. However after it broke free of its mooring yet again this year I am sick of dealing with a boat that has to be kept in the water when we can't afford a slip.
She is a 1995 WB 250 hull #161. She has a main sail and 100% jib that have only been sailed with this year and kept covered at all other times. New mainsail cover. Boomkicker new this year. New tiller and tiller cover. Rudder is the first generation beaching rudder that I modified per Alryn's method so that it is somewhat balanced. New this summer Nissan 9.8HP electric start Xlongshaft outboard. I have a bimini I have yet to install but will be working on it as time permits until the boat sells. Otherwise, unattached bimini is included. A charcoal railmount grill is included though it also hasn't been mounted yet. The boat has 2 cabin fans and a stereo that my daughter says quit working when she last used it. I haven't verified that claim yet. Ships battery is new as of May. Also includes TrailRite trailer that I believe is original to the boat. Springs and bearings seem to be in fine condition. Some of the carpet is detaching from the bunks. Boat sails well. Will probably sail better in more experienced hands. Things that could use fixed are: 1. Broken centerboard cable 2. There is a dent in the area of the hull to deck joint on the port side slightly aft of where the spreaders attach from my first adventure with breaking free of the mooring. I am no marine surveyor but it appears to be nothing more than cosmetics. 3 No aft berth cushions. My wife and I slept in the V berth as there is more airflow anyway. Also included is a down the hatch ventilator sail. 4. My first project while it is out...Cleaning the bottom and repainting. It has Micron Extra but when it was pressure washed a lot of it came off and there are still some barnacles on the bottom.
That is about it. I love this boat. No doubt about it. I am very sad my hopes of those sunset cruises with my wife and older daughter aren't going to happen. She is a blast to sail and very stable feeling.
Asking $12500 for all. I also have a Baltik Boats 10 foot inflatable dingy with wood floor with a new 9.8HP tohatsu if you need a dingy. Asking $1700 for that combo. Buy them both for $14000 and I will throw in the 150 pounds of sand in the bow of the 250 for free. :)
Very sorry to hear you're giving up your boat. Not to beat a dead horse, but what has been the cause of your boat breaking free of it's mooring? Are your lines simply chafing through?
Honestly in my opinion, vandalism has been a part of it. The first time the ropes sure looked cut to me. That prompted me to use chain from the anchor chain to the boat as a backup to the ropes. Then the chain was stolen. Then my shackle mysteriously worked free (even though it was lock-wired and I did a ton of lock-wiring in the navy.) This last time, The mooring ball and pennants detached from the anchor chain so if I were to try and re-moor I would need to purchase and set a new anchor as well as chain. Thanks for the good luck wishes. We will own another boat similar to this when we have the resources to keep it in a slip. in the meantime I think I will look for something small to be my toy. Maybe a windrider or something similar.
Really sorry to hear you have to sell you C250. If your Bimini isn`t installed yet could you sell me your Bimini Butler? If you recall I droped a part overboard and it sank.
Steve I was planning to install the bimini in case the boat doesn't sell, i will have it for me but I guess I will post the bimini itself for sale. If I can get rid of it then yeah I will get you the bimini butler.
