You also have options on how you insure against losses on your own boat--deductables, agreed-on value, replacement cost, etc. What isn't optional is liability coverage, unless you have an extra half million stashed away. You can go onto boatus.com, play with the variables, and get quotes. The same is probably true for a few other majors.
Check with Traveler's. Mine is insured anywhere in the US and is around 250 a year. Mine is/was kept moored and not in a slip or on the trailer which makes it more.
FYI, since BoatUS and West Marine are affiliated, BoatUS sent me 5 $10 coupons for WM when we re-upped our insurance. Since I do buy things at WM that effectively took $50 off the insurance.
Joshua, Around $300 but every state is different in costs. Check with those in your area. I am an insurance agent and even after getting a commission, BoatUS for me in CA was cheaper than Progressive who I sell and is a good company. Stay with main ones. Sometimes your auto will give you a discount if you buy another policy. Good luck. Steve A
