The November issue of Mainsheet had the article about the trip to Little Traverse Bay and Beaver Island Michigan made by 3 Catalina 25s from the association along with an additional boat (Watkins 25) from our boat club in St. Marys, Ohio. Here are a few pictures from the trip...
The 3 Catalinas in the motel parking lot the morning of the launch
The first day was spent sailing on Lake Charlevoix and then anchoring out in Horton Bay
Next we headed out under the bridge at Charlevoix for Lake Michigan
We sailed into Little Traverse Bay bound for the docks at Harbor Springs
Zydeco on the trip from Harbor Springs to Beaver Island
Ferrys at the docks in St. James on Beaver Island
We stayed at the municipal docks at St. James for three nights
One of our trips around Beaver took us to this light house at the southern tip of the island
Our next stop was to anchor out for two nights at Garden Island just north of Beaver Island
The morning we left for the trip back to Charlevoix it was very calm - here is one of our neighbors as we slip out of the harbor
Bill...BILL...stop playing chicken with that Ferry!
Zydeco back in Round Lake after coming under the draw bridge in Charlevoix
Some of our group had to head home, but Evenstar and Y Knot sailed back down Lake Charlevoix to Boyne City - here we take up the same dock space as the one boat next to us
We also made one more overnight trip down Little Traverse Bay to Petoskey

I love that Charlevoix - Little Traverse area. That last one of the broad reach could be titled "Hull Speed".

Thanks. Yeah, we were moving pretty good that day (several days had that kind of wind). We spent two full weeks in the area - could have spent two months!
