The bottom one is repalced fairly strait forward. Unbolt old and install new with sealant. The upper one requires cutting a hole in th aft bulkhead of the cockpit footwell. Once the gudgeon is replaced a Beckson screw in access plate is installed to clean up the hole.
I don't have any photos but I'm sure someone that does will chime in also.
I replaced my lower gudgeon and added a third in between. I left the top alone, because of the hassle of drilling the hole to access it per Happy D above. I added additional layers of glass inside the transom, along with new backing plates made of plywood and aluminim. I cut in a Beckson plate as shown above. I replaced the original gudgeons with the upgrade heavy duty ones sold by Catalina direct. I also used 5/16" machine bolts and fender washers instead of the original 1/4" bolts.
