On our new years weekend trip, the stern light housing cover dissappeared.
Seems the bendy latch at the top of the housing failed and the cover just fell off during the trailer trip.
With my new Leatherman multi tool, I fabricated a cover using the bottom part of a water bottle and some electrical tape (over the top to prevent glare in the cockpit) (Add to the 1001 uses of a Leatherman)
Looking to replace the cover I'll have to buy a complete new housing.
Anyone used the hella 2nm LED stern light? Does it fit?
Paul, You should be able to just buy the lens to replace the one you lost unless I'm misunderstanding what's missing. Is it an Aqua Signal 25? It sounds like it might not be, mine is connected with two screws. However, if so, I'm pretty sure I saw them at Fisheries Supply. I was able to purchase a new lens for my anchor light there for about $20 if I remember correctly. WM can probably get the stern as well.
David, it's the Hella unit and they don't offer just the lense. The whole unit is only $19.95 on the web (plus $8.45 S&H!!!) While looking around I found that hella makes an LED version but it's not the same fitting/size. (and is about $45!)
