Our plexiglass hatch covers slide open and shut along two fibreglass ridges. The tops of the ridges have clear tape to protect the ridges. Where can we buy replacement tape since Catalina's now in Florida and Catalina Direct doesn't stock it? Is there another tape product that would work just as well? Thanks.

Frank,
I use UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) tape to replace whatever was on there originally. I've since had problems right at the aft end with the tape coming loose. I think this is because I didn't clean the rails as well as I should have. When I do it next time, I'll use Scrub Brite to clean the rails before I put the tape down. For the time being, I only have about 3" on one side that's come up, and it's only slightly annoying so far.

The tape is super sticky & you'll only get one chance to get it down properly. The nice thing is, the roof will slide very nicely after you get it down, like silk.
