-4 degrees F this morning. Although I enjoy winters, I enjoy sailing more. Even thinking about sailing is a joy. Anyway, my question: I need to replace my roller furler line (and sail but that's another story). I can't measure my old line. What is the length of line needed?
I didn't know for sure either but, I calculated the length as the length of the foot of the sail plus the length from the furler to the cleat near the cockpit. Then I added a "fudge factor" and ended up with about 50' of line for my 135% on my C250 with a CDI furler.
Assuming you have a CDI-CD4 furler I believe I used 50' of 1/4" line which left about a 6' tail when unfurled. Better to buy extra then end up short but for the life of me I cannot remember if I cut off some excess. My furling line cleat is attached to the stanchion on the starboard side just forward of the entry gate.
