This is an upgrade of the cable size on the roller trailer winch. I have used the size cable the winch had on it but after seeing the size cable on the power winch I decided to up the size. Found it made up at HD for around $20. I had also installed the electric winch which I used once at the end of last season. Because of not wanting to leave the new winch on all year designed it to pin on below the exhisting mechanical winch and use a turning block which also keeps the cable from cutting into the bow rubber snubber. I found that the safety chain now has a better way to quickly fasten the pin. The electic winch has a slow power out so I wanted to keep the use of the brake of the mechanical winch so now I have both. The turning wheel is from a block I got at a yard sale and it has roller bearings. The 25 is a load to pull up on the trailer but now much easier and safer.
I need to get a photo of the winch installed to maybe help show its place on the trailer. It's snowing right now so maybe tomorrow.
